Our goals for 2012

2011 was an exciting and fruitful year with all our goals either completed or in the process of completion. 2012 is going to be another exciting year as already we have much planned and we look forward to sharing this with you here and as the year progresses. Our vision for 2012 is one of pushing the boundaries and our goals are as usual exciting, evangelistic, all inclusive and creative, using all the talents that God has given to each one of us to complete!

To remain Christ Centered

Everything we do at RBC has a Jesus focus – is Christ centered. We constantly seek to focus on following Jesus’ direction. Not doing ministry for numbers sake, not focusing solely on church attendance, not listening to individual desires; but following Jesus’ leading and guiding in everything.
We believe that having our focus solely on Jesus, church numbers, personal fulfillment and personal spiritual growth will naturally follow.

Appoint a new Youth Pastor

Ministry and evangelism to the younger generations are an integral part of our church community and we ask you to join with us in prayer as we seek to appoint a new pastor for this crucial area of ministry.

Easter Production

For the last 8 years we have been able to present the love of Jesus in a tremendously powerful way on Good Friday. We hope to continue this tradition as we prepare and produce our Easter Production of ‘The Seven Sayings of Christ on the Cross’.

Worship Workshops

Continue to hold worship workshops but increase them to four throughout 2012. One per term will be held. Check with Pastor Ben for the dates.

Writing and Recording

Write and record new worship songs.
Re- record existing RBC worship songs.

Whole Church Night of Worship

The whole church gathering together for a night of worship and prayer.
We will worship together celebrating the new songs written by talented composers and writers at RBC.
This will be held on Wednesday 1st August. Book the date now!

Outreach and Teaching Videos

Begin setup and design for developing videos for outreach and teaching for use on the website.

Whole Church
Bible Study series

Begin E100 Bible study series for the whole church. The series is to start on Sunday 22nd April. This includes personal devotions, home group bible studies and a sermon series.

Prayer Nights

Continue to have whole church prayer nights in Term 2 and 3.

Connection Lunches and/or Dinners

Connection meals are held in one of the Pastor’s homes where new and newish people to our congregation can come and meet the Pastoral team and others attending RBC.
They are held throughout the year as and when they are needed.

Sunday morning teas and lunches

Morning teas and lunches continue to be a wonderful way for the RBC community to gather together for an extended period of time after our Sunday morning service.
We will continue to have our morning teas each week and lunches twice a month.

Mothers Day morning tea

We will again celebrate with all the women in the church by having a Mother’s Day Morning Tea after the morning service on Mother’s Day.
We will ask the men of the church to watch over our children as we share together.
We value and love all our women greatly, those with or without children.
So this is a time to have something special just for us girls!

Whole Church Dinners

Gathering together for a meal is something at RBC we value highly.
It is a time where we can meet new people and share deeper and longer conversations and create lasting memories for all at RBC.
We will hold two whole church dinners throughout the year.
Keep watching for the dates.

Hospitality Cookbook

There are many times when life gets busy or difficult and the gift of being brought a meal is amazing.
We will create a hospitality cookbook with recipes relatively easy to cook, with common ingredients and that are popular. This will include recipes suitable to reduce or increase in quantities, freeze and reheat easily.

Guess who’s coming to Lunch?

Have people over for Sunday lunch you may not have met before.
OR
Go to someone’s house you may not have met before for lunch.
But most of all have fun! Keep watch for the announcement.

Men’s ministry

Men’s ministry will continue to be held on the last Saturday of every month. We meet in the church hall from 8am.
All men of all ages are welcome to enjoy a delicious breakfast, fun, fellowship and great teaching.

Soccer Clinic

RBC will hold the first soccer clinic in 2012.
We will join with other churches in
holding a Christian soccer clinic for
the purpose of reaching out to our
community during the October school
holidays.
This clinic is open to everyone.
